So whats it cost to have a carving done?

I'll try to give you a good answer.

Time is the overall factor.
Pricing may be more or less depending on how complex the carving is and type of wood
the carving is made from.

To have a typical
Finished Carving produce from my shop, a rough way of pricing is about
One hundred dollars per liner foot of a twelve to eighteen inch diameter
Pine.
If you had a twenty four to thirty six inch diameter
Pine log it would be double.

Unfinished Carvings are about half the price for DIY people, and I will fill you in on how to
finish a carving.

Due to our wonderful economy pricing is often less and you get more for your dollar.
Feel free to inquire I often quote free of charge.

Having a colors applied adds to the cost on average twenty five to fifty dollars per linear
foot. I use the finest outdoor time tested sign quality paints and artist colors that money will
buy.

I have this tree in My yard and I would like to have it carved, how much does it

I am one of the carvers who will do on site work such as stump carvings.
I will carve a tree stump that is prepared .
I am not an Arborist. It would be in your best
interest to have a tree service remove the top of the tree.

Tree stump carvings are ultimately priced buy the hour
distance traveled, accommodations if needed,  and equipment .
On site tree stumps have to be in good condition.

Pricing On relief carving live trees or stumps.
"Surface carving"

Carving can be done on live trees  and in most cases the tree will continue to grow and
thrive. I will not guarantee that it will not kill the tree.
Preventative maintenance is sometimes not enough to keep out bugs and disease.
I will provide you with information that will help keep the tree healthy after carving.

Pricing is typically cheaper than on site stump carvings as the relief carvings are normally
less complex.
