Design.

Starts with a small Idea.
In this instance....beloved family members.
Then the idea grows into something that will
illicit a response.
Raw substance.

Is where the Creative Process begins.
The Sculptor must be able to correctly
interpret the sculpture material.
Creative Process

" Before he can create, man must have a deep awareness of the world
about him- he must be able to really see, hear, feel, touch, and move."
Harold A. Rothbart
Rough out

The design is laid out with paint
and the rough carving begins
Rough out

You can see the raccoons and the basset
Hounds start to appear.

Oh Boy

A Good repair shop is Handy

A little down time and back in action.
Refinement

This is a good time to look a little closer,
tighten up, and remove areas that do not belong.
Adding Texture

This is the point where the carving starts to come
alive.
Innovation, creativity, and good old fashion common
sense.
A good example is the raccoon tail to the right that
was originally intended to be a tree branch.
